Utopia is the 9th national jamboree or the Norwegian Guide and Scout association, in Åndalsnes in the northwest coast of Norway.
From the 4th to the 11th of July 2009 more than 6 000 scouts and guides will gather for a week of exhilarating experiences on the shore side of a Norwegian fjord.
In the outlet of river Rauma, just beneath the highest vertical mountain wall in Europe, Trollveggen (TrollWall), scouts and guides, rover and rangers will gather in “Utopia 2009” and build a new environmental and sustainable world. During the jamboree, we will show the world that we are able and capable to do so. The fantastic nature will provide a framework for exhilarating experiences and expeditions.
Here you will find some general information about what you can expect from Utopia 2009. If you do not find what you are looking for, please feel free to contact us directly through the "Contact"-page.

Friendship groups
International guides, scouts, rover and rangers are welcome to participate in Utopia. Let us know if you want to be linked with a Norwegian guide and scout group, and we will assist in establishing contact. Please note that home hospitality will not be organized on the part of the Norwegian Guide and Scout Association. Even if you do not have a group to participate with, you can join the “open troop” and still take part in the greatest camp in Norway this summer.

"Open Troop"
Open troop is an option for those guides and scouts that would like to participate in Utopia, but for some reason, do not have a leader or a troop to participate with. International participants are welcome to join Open Troop. If you are interested in joining the Open troop or have any questions, please contac the troop leader, Sven Bjørn Lilleslåtten: dengamle.nn@gmail.com
Staff
If you would like to participate as staff, you have to be able to communicate and understand English (or Norwegian!). Get in touch with the international coordinator and tell us about your background what kind of work you would like to get involved with. You have to be at least 18 years old at the start of the camp in order to particiapate as staff.
